Our businesses are committed to enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future.

Our strategic aims are to be a global leader in both sustainable biomass pellets and carbon removals, and to be a UK leader in dispatchable, renewable generation.

Drax is the second largest producer of sustainable biomass globally, and the UK’s largest source of renewable power by output. We are progressing options for carbon removals using bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS).

Our integrated flexible and renewable value chain:

Elimini

Elimini is a new kind of carbon removals company

To help reverse the effects of the climate crisis, we need to reduce the dangerous levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. And cut our addiction to fossil fuels. But the world still needs renewable electricity.

BECCS (bioenergy with carbon capture and storage) is the only removal technology that does both: generating 24/7 renewable electricity while locking away emissions. For good.

By working in partnership with companies and sectors – including those with the biggest challenge to decarbonize – Elimini can deploy BECCS rapidly and at scale. Helping turn vital industries from carbon emitters to carbon removers.
