Our economic impact in the UK
In 2024, across its pumped storage, hydro and biomass assets, Drax Group generated 10% of the UK’s renewable electricity. It also makes an important economic contribution to the country. Through the people we employ, the supply chain we support and the goods and services we purchase, we help power the UK economy.

Our economic impact in the US
In the US, the group has seven operational and development sites, and two further facilities at the deep-water ports in three of its primary States: Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Drax also has an impact across other states in the US, but this impact is smaller, so this report does not provide a deep dive into these areas. This impact is however considered in the overall assessment of the US.
