- What happens to the information I give on the diversity page?
- What if I have a query about the progress of my application?

We run a wide range of early careers schemes – including work experience, apprenticeships, T Level placements, degree apprenticeships, year in industry, and graduate schemes. We typically advertise these roles on an annual basis in line with the academic calendar.
Once you have submitted your application, you’ll receive an email to confirm that your application has been received. We will then start our shortlisting process. If you are logged into our current vacancies website, you can track the status by viewing your current applications.
If you are shortlisted, we will contact you to let you know the next step in the process – this will depend on the role you have applied for. As part of the recruitment process you may be asked to participate in an interview, testing (e.g. aptitude, personality, verbal and numerical reasoning) and in some cases be asked to attend an assessment centre.
The information is used to monitor the effectiveness of our diversity and equality policy, and to ensure our recruitment process is fair. Your data will be kept confidential within HR and may be used in summary reports to management teams, trade unions and employee representatives, but these reports do not identify individuals.
Please log in to our current vacancies website where you’ll be able to see the status of your application. If the status is pending, then we are still processing your application. For some of our vacancies we receive a large number of applications and therefore the initial selection process can take a number of weeks or months. We will always send you an update on your application, even if you have not been successful. We therefore ask for your patience during this process.
After a verbal offer has been made, you will be asked to provide a number of things. The law to prevent illegal working requires all new employees to produce an accepted, original form of identification. We do this via a platform called Credas where you will be asked to upload the relevant documents to verify.
We also require two satisfactory references via Experian, you will be sent further information after offer.
Depending on the role, you may also be asked to complete a medical questionnaire by our Occupational Health team.
We have a relocation assistance policy which is applied where appropriate.
Your details will remain on our system for 12 months, in line with data protection laws. If you do not log in to your account for 11 months, you’ll receive an email to notify you your account has been deleted.
If you receive an email letting you know that your account will expire in 30 days, you can reactivate this simply by logging back into your profile.

View MoreQuestions about Drax
- Does Drax work with recruitment agencies?
- Do you offer hybrid or flexible working options?
- Do you offer part time roles?
- Do you offer sponsorship?
Yes, we do. Whilst our preference is that our internal recruitment team works to fill our vacancies, we do recognise the value that recruitment agencies can add. We’ve put together a Preferred Supplier List (PSL) of great recruiters, all of who have been vetted and approved and have agreed to specific commercial terms of business and processes to follow. We’re committed to partnering with our PSL recruitment agencies, and currently we’re not looking to add to our PSL. We can’t accept speculative CVs or introductions.
We encourage you to put details of any flexible working requirements in your application and we will be happy to discuss if your application is progressed. We operate a mostly hybrid working model however this is dependent on the role and can vary.
Yes, for many roles we offer part-time positions. We’re committed to helping all our people find the right work/life balance. To find out which roles allow for part time, reach out to [email protected]
Yes – we’re a global business so recognise that value that talented people brings to us, wherever you’re based, and can sponsor international candidates. Our selection processes are free from bias and discrimination.
