Lee Dawes, Chief Operations Officer

Lee joins us from most recently being the Managing Director of the MEH Joint Venture for the Hinkley Point C project,  before that was a senior executive in GE and Alstom’s global power business where he served for more than 30 years in leading power station projects and services businesses around the world.

Previously the Regional CEO in  Africa for GE Power, he led a $4B power projects portfolio as well as a large power services business where he was responsible for the operation, maintenance and upgrades of various thermal, hydro and renewable power plants.

During this time Lee and his team won various international awards including the IPMA gold award for EPC mega projects, GE President’s award for project leadership and was recognised for CSI, skills, people development and compliance programmes in Africa.

Before his time in Africa, he lead various large new build power projects globally including Staythorpe and Langage CCGT in the UK  as well as projects in Australia & the Philippines delivering with large multi-disciplinary teams across different continents

Starting his career at GEC power station projects in Trafford Park, Manchester as an apprentice engineer he holds degrees in Electrical Engineering from Sheffield University, an MBA  from Henley Business School and completed various senior global executive programmes at  INSEAD and GE Crotonville (US).

Lee is a former President of the American Chamber of Commerce in South Africa and sits on the Gordon Institute of Business [GIBS] Advisory board.
